Tutorial to Update Samsung Galaxy Grand with XXAMD6 Jellybean 4.1.2 Firmware

As you know, Samsung Galaxy Grand is the latest budgeted phone which is really a treat to the eyes and its functionalities being sheer amazing. Now, if you are a proud owner of this Grand device, you can then update it with the latest Jellybean 4.1.2 firmware. This particular firmware is named as the XXAMD6 and accompanies a few bug fixes and minor variations as well. You can shove firmware into your device via the Odin process. The requirements and instructions to do this are discussed below.

Things to be noted

The stepwise instructions discussed below are only applicable for the Samsung Galaxy Grand, model number I9082

Requirements

Samsung Galaxy Grand, model number I9082
Computer with internet connectivity to download the necessary elements.
USB Data cable.
Charge the battery of your device fully or up to 70% so that it does not shut down in the middle of the process.
Back up the data of your phone such as SMS, MMS, contacts, call logs, multimedia etc with KIES or through any medium, so that they are not lost during the procedure. You can do this with the backup app and then restore later.
Enable USB Debugging and this you can do by tapping on ‘Settings,’ then ‘Applications,’ then ‘Development,’ then tick the ‘USB debugging.’ Remember to untick USB Debugging after everything is completed.

Instructions

Firstly, you need to download the Galaxy GRAND I9082 XXAMD6 Jellybean 4.1.2 Firmware Package (http://bit.ly/15Vvo8J) to your computer and then extract it with suitable extracting software.
Next, you need to download the Odin (http://bit.ly/125BNJi) and then extract it with suitable extracting software. Then, double click on the file in order to launch it on your computer.
Now, you need to switch off your Galaxy Grand device and make it enter into download mode and this you can do by pressing and holding the Volume Down Key and OK button simultaneously and press the Power Button too at the same time.
You will see a warning message displayed on the screen. Ignore it and continue pressing the Volume Up key to procede.
Now, using the USB data cable, connect your device to the computer and you will see the ID : COM section turning yellow which indicates that the drivers have successfully been installed on your computer.
In case the ID : COM did not turn yellow, then you need to install the USB drivers on your computer and navigate through Settings > Wireless & Network > USB Settings. You should check and ensure that Samsung KIES is ticked before phone connection.
Next, click on PDA and select it.
Click on the ‘Start’ button so that the updating of the firmware starts and once its done, the device will reboot after which you just need to disconnect the device from your computer.
Here, select and navigate through ‘Wipe data/factory reset’ > ‘Wipe Cache partition’ > ‘reboot system now’ with the help of volume rocker buttons.
Once you are done with the above discussed instructions, know that your Samsung Grand has been updated with XXAMD6 Jellybean 4.1.2 Firmware.
