Samsung Redwood GT-I8800 with Tizen 2.1 Magnolia, S-Voice, S-Beam & Wi-Fi Direct [Images Leaked]

Some time ago, Samsung incorporated its Bada platform into the Tizen project but we are waiting for a smartphone running on the open source project. In context to the company’s upcoming phones based on the Tizen OS, the crew at TizenGreekCommunity (Tizen.GR) has posted images of one of these phones codenamed as the Redwood bearing the GT-I8800 model number. This was also confirmed by a UAProf earlier and as of now; the leaked images have been published online.

As you can see in the images below, the Redwood runs on the Tizen 2.1 Magnolia platform along with amazing features like Samsung’s voice-recognition and voice-command feature S-Voice. According to Lee Young Hee of Samsung, this smartphone will be the best product equipped with the best specifications. The device looks well designed and looks pretty similar to the Galaxy smartphones and for your kind information, the company has also integrated some of the proprietary Android features such as S-Voice, Wi-Fi Direct and S-Beam into the Tizen platform.

According to the online sources, there is confirmation that the Samsung I8800 Redwood flaunts with a 720p display and runs on Tizen 2.1 OS. In the ongoing Tizen Developer Conference, these Tizen based devices will be delivered for cross platform customizations to some 500 developers participating in the conference. Earlier, it was expected that the phones will run Tizen 2.0 version but these images make it clear that Samsung decides to flaunt the devices with the latest version of Tizen.

After the Redwood flagship, we expect a good number of mid-range Melius phone with Tizen 2.1 Magnolia to be unveiled into the markets. It is likely that the flagship would be announced first as there are no leaks on the looks of the device. Till now, we had expectation that the device would be launched sometime in August or September but keeping the online flashes in mind, it seems that the launch would take place sooner. Well, we have no confirmation about the commercial availability of the device and there are chances that it remains as a developer's platform.
