Samsung Launches Galaxy Young: Dual-SIM Smartphone with Jelly Bean at Rs 8,010

Just like it always did, Samsung, the South Korean electronics manufacturer is demolishing the lineup of its Android smartphone to a lower price segments in India. It seems like the company is launching one or the other device each day. Day before yesterday, the company had launched the Galaxy Star and now the Galaxy Young has been unveiled on its online e-Store at a price of Rs 8,010. Like other low-end Samsung smartphones, the Galaxy Young is also a dual-SIM device and accompanies some amazing features. Go through the discussions below.

This dual-sim handset is built with a 3.27 inches (~176 ppi pixel density) TFT capacitive touchscreen multitouch display which resembles a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels along with 256K colors. It runs on Android v4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system and is powered by 1 GHz Cortex-A5 processor along with Accelerometer, proximity and compass as sensors. It is enabled with an internal memory of 4 GB and 768 MB RAM and also supports an external microSD expandable up to 64 GB.

This Galaxy Young device is embedded with a 3.15 MP camera resembling a resolution of 2048x1536 pixels and supports VGA@24fps video along with Geo-tagging. The device supports GPRS, EDGE, HSDPA, 7.2 Mbps; HSUPA, 5.76 Mbps, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot,  Wi-Fi Direct and Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP for connectivity. Its sound features include alert types such as Vibration, MP3 and WAV ringtones along with a loudspeaker and a 3.5mm jack. It supports video in MP4, WMV, H.264 and H.263 player formats while it also supports audio in MP3, WAV, eAAC+ and FLAC player formats.

Other miscellaneous features are SMS (threaded view), MMS, Email, Push Mail, IM, RSS, HTML browser, Stereo FM radio with RDS, FM recording, GPS with A-GPS support, Java MIDP emulator, SNS integration, Organizer, Image and video editor, Document viewer, Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Calendar, Google Talk, Picasa, Voice memo/dial and Predictive text input.

The device is boosted with a Li-Ion 1300 mAh battery which holds charge up to long hours. It measures 109.4 x 58.6 x 12.5 mm (4.31 x 2.31 x 0.49 in) in dimensions and weighs 112 g (3.95 oz) in weight. It comes in White color and is set with a price tag of Rs 8,010.
