Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Unveiled in LTE, HSPA+ & Dual-SIM Variants [Official]

Samsung officially announced it’s the Galaxy S4 Mini smartphone yesterday not having the patience to wait till the 20th of June. Just a few days back, the company had launched two devices namely, Galaxy Star and Galaxy Young while the former has been claimed as the cheapest Galaxy smartphone. This baby Galaxy S4 comes in LTE, HSPA+ and dual-SIM variants and this implies that Samsung is planning for a huge launch for this device in comparison to the launch of the Galaxy S3 Mini. It will also accompany many features that are embedded on to the Galaxy S 4 which includes camera features, S Health, S Translator and WatchOn. The Galaxy S4 Mini is an optional dual-SIM device that supports 2G, 3G as well as 4G (LTE - GT-I9195) network. The device is well designed, built with a 4.3 inches (~256 ppi pixel density) Super AMOLED capacitive multitouch touchscreen display resembling a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels along with 16M colors. It runs on Google’s Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system and is powered by Dual-core 1.7 GHz Krait processor, Qualcomm MSM8930 Snapdragon 400 chipset and Adreno 305 graphics processor. It is provided with accelerometer, gyro, proximity and compass as sensors.

This Mini device accompanies an internal memory of 8 GB (5 GB user available), 1.5 GB RAM for the 3G model and 2 GB RAM for the LTE model. It also supports external memory via card slot which is expandable up to 64 GB. The device flaunts with an 8 MP rear camera resembling a resolution of 3264 x 2448 pixels with the features of autofocus and LED flash. It is also embedded with a 1.9 MP front facing camera and the whole camera setup of the devices features Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR and panorama. Video is supported on the device with 1080p@30fps.

Its connectivity features include GPRS, EDGE, HSDPA, 42 Mbps, HSUPA, 5.76 Mbps, LTE, Cat3, 50 Mbps UL, 100 Mbps DL, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, dual-band, DLNA, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP, LE, EDR, NFC and Infra-red. Its sound setup is enabled with the common alert types such as Vibration, MP3, WAV ringtones along with a loudspeaker and a 3.5mm audio jack. It supports video in MP4, DivX, XviD, WMV, H.264 and H.263 player formats and supports audio in MP3, WAV, eAAC+, AC3 and FLAC player formats. Moreover, like the usual smartphones, it supports Messaging via SMS (threaded view), MMS, Email, Push Mail, IM and RSS along with HTML5 browser.

Other miscellaneous features of the Glaxy Mini device include Stereo FM radio with RDS, GPS with A-GPS support and GLONASS, Java MIDP emulator, SNS integration, Organizer, Image and video editor, Document viewer, Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Calendar, Google Talk, Picasa, Voice memo and Predictive text input (Swype). The device is boosted by a Li-Ion 1900 mAh battery and measures 124.6 x 61.3 x 8.9 mm (4.91 x 2.41 x 0.35 in) in dimensions while it weighs 107g (3.77oz). Well, the Galaxy S4 Mini has been scheduled to be released in the month of July this year.
