Tutorial to Capture a Screenshot on Samsung Galaxy S4: 2 Methods

One of the best merits of owning a smartphone is being able to capture the current screen of your device. While Samsung has embedded a lot of amazing features into its new Galaxy S4 device, most of the users would like to save a screenshot because of its beautiful display. For this, you don’t need to root your S4 or install any third party apps. There are two methods to capture a screenshot. While one method is quite conservative to most Android users, the other method is a common and well known method to users of previous Galaxy devices. 1. Firstly, you need to place the palm of your hand on the screen of your Galaxy S4 device. Remember to unlock your hone before doing this as it will not work on a locked screen.

2. Next, you need to swipe your hand across the screen in directions, left and right. While doing this, you will hear a camera shutter sound followed by a notification displayed on the screen saying “copied to clipboard”. With this, your screenshot will be saved to your photo Gallery.

Note: Prior to the capturing of screenshot using this method, you should ‘turn on’ the “Palm motion” option. In order to turn this option ‘on,’ you have navigate through ‘Settings’ > ‘Motions and gestures’ > ‘Palm motion.’ Here, enable or disable the “Palm motion” option.

Another alternative method to take a screenshot on the Galaxy S4 device is to simply press and hold the ‘lock key’ and the ‘home button’ simultaneously till a camera shutter sound is heard. Once you hear this sound, know that your screenshot has been saved to your Photo Gallery.

You can choose any of these methods to capture a screenshot on your Galaxy S4 but the shots captured will be saved to the Photo Gallery in both the cases. These methods will work while you are on the home screen and also when you are using applications.
