Tutorial to Apply REMIX PLUS+MINI S3 Custom ROM on Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360

Here is good news for the Samsung Galaxy Y owners as you can now apply REMIX PLUS+MINI S3 Custom Rom in order to have a solid platform. With this, your device is likely to run smooth with no odds and you can use S3 ringtones, Ubuntu fonts, swap support, EXT4 file system support and 3d quick pic gallery view. The UI becomes new having 15 toggles in notification drawer along with new framework, settings and amazing dialer. Next, with the Volume rocker select ‘wipe cache partition’ and ‘wipe data/factory reset’. Use the middle button to confirm the selection and finally, go back and select ‘reboot system now.’

Requirements

Samsung Galaxy Y, model number GT-S5360.
Computer with internet connectivity
Original USB data cable
Charge the battery of your device fully or up to 70% so that it does not shut down in the middle of the process.
Back up the data of your phone such as SMS, MMS, contacts, call logs, multimedia etc with KIES or through any medium, so that they are not lost during the procedure. You can do this with the backup app and then restore later.
Enable the USB Debugging by navigating through ‘settings’ > ‘application’ > ‘development’ and do tick the box and untick it later.

Instructions

Firstly, you need to check the model number of the device by navigating through ‘settings’ > ‘about phone’ > ‘model number.’
Next, download the REMIX PLUS+MINI S3 custom ROM or use the alternative link (http://bit.ly/11eMgUM) for Galaxy Y and also download the CWM recovery zip (http://bit.ly/XMm4hh) file to your computer. The CWM recovery is only applicable for ones applying the ROM for the first time or else installation of this is not required.
Using the USB data cable of your device connect the Galaxy Y to the computer. Then copy both the zip files and paste them in the root of the SD card. Do not save it in any sub folder as recovery mode would not be able to detect it. Once done, disconnect the USB cable and take the phone in your hand.
Turn of your device and by pressing and holding the Volume up key, menu key and power buttons; make the phone enter into recovery mode. Using the volume rocker and the middle button, select and confirm the option “install zip from SD card.” Select the CWM recovery zip first (optional) then chose the Remix plus+ custom ROM zip.
Finally, select “reboot system now” if your device did not reboot automatically and note that it may take more than 20 minutes to boot in normal mode.
